July 1 marks the first day of school for incoming New College of Florida President Dr. Donal O’Shea, a self-described “completely un-anal and unfashionable” mathematician and former dean of faculty and vice president for academic affairs at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. With an easy smile and friendly demeanor—not to mention an impressive resume filled with international appointments and monographs to his credit—the father of four and grandfather of three is excited about leading New College students to new academic heights.
