New College president lauds graduates, parents, faculty

On Friday evening, more than 150 graduating students from New College of Florida received their diplomas and now embark on their individual journeys into adulthood.  This year’s graduating class is an impressive one, with six Fulbright Scholars, a French Government Teaching Assistantship recipient and a State Department Critical Language Scholar.  Many others have received awards and scholarships to attend some of our country’s top graduate programs. In fact, history shows that nearly 80 percent of New College graduates will go on to pursue graduate studies and receive advanced degrees in law, medicine, business, science, education and other fields.
